Painful Encounters

'Painful Encounters' is the second in a trilogy inspired by Psalm 121: 1-2:

'I lift my eyes up on the hills, where does my help come from? My help comes from the LORD, the maker of Heaven and Earth.'

It describes the obstacles and setbacks during the journey of finding help from the lord, hence having a sad tonality throughout. Starting with a meditative section, the piece intensifies greatly by various rhythms and meter changes, before returning to a meditative ending. 

Tempo changes occur. Techniques include LV, Suspended Mallets, Echo, Mallets on Table, Mallet Lift, Martellato, Martellato Lift.
